Little Dutch Designer

Not because I have it figured out.

Not because I have it figured out.

Because I didn't and I needed something honest to hold onto.

Because I didn't and I needed something honest to hold onto.

I make things for people who are carrying too much.

Not because I have it figured out. Because I didn't and I needed something that didn't lie to me about how hard this actually is.

This work started late at night when the house was quiet and I was too tired to pretend anymore.

I was doing the work of multiple people with a fraction of the support I thought I'd have. And every time I said I was drowning, someone told me I just needed better time management or a gratitude practice.

The problem wasn't my mindset. The problem was the math.

So I started making things that told the truth.

Why Folklore

I work with folklore because those stories were never about having it together. They were about endurance.

Scheherazade survived by telling one more story.
Odysseus took years to get home and no one called it a character flaw.
Gretel used breadcrumbs and strategy because hope wasn't enough.
Penelope wove and unwove, buying time until the situation changed.
Stone Soup travelers created abundance from almost nothing.
Joseph endured the pit, the prison, and years of waiting before anything got better.

None of them manifested their way out. They used what they had, from where they were, and kept going.

That's the work.

What this is

Little Dutch Designer exists for the gritty middle.
The part where you're still carrying everything.
The part where the miracle hasn't shown up yet.
The part everyone tells you to gloss over or heal faster from.

I'm not here to optimize you.
I'm not here to fix you.
I'm not here to sell you transformation you're supposed to complete by Q3.

I make art, apparel, and tools that do one thing:
Hold space for the truth that sometimes survival is the whole plan.
And sometimes, that's enough.
